First, and foremost, everything I express is my opinion, and my opinion alone. It doesn’t represent that of my serving husband. Secondly, I am not in the military, have never been in the military, will never be in the military and, I am just mooting the Defence issue from the perspective a civilian, whose life is impacted daily by the Ministry of Defence.
I, also, respect that the military is a strategic Government asset, with a job to do that relies on intelligence and information that is outside the public domain. This should remain so for a reason, and therefore, I have no interest in breaking news, or, committing such treasonous acts of revealing to our nation’s enemies information that is not meant to be revealed. I recognise that by doing so compromises the work of those who rely on such discretion. (If only the Defence Correspondents of the national newspapers would make the same pledge!)
Swiss Bob said, that I didn’t need to write the above, because nowadays it was ok for a women to express an opinion. He’s obviously not been married to a serving officer before. They tend to like their women, quiet and houseproud. Poor Mr Macnaughty, he married the wrong wife.
Anyway, my virgin The Daily Politics post is up, so check it out!

Ah!! Utopia – alas my views impact my spouse. It’s quite draconian.

I think I actually wrote: “You’re entitled to your opinion”, though I guess I implied ‘woman’ as I added “these days”.
You’ll have Harriet Harman after me.

Technically, I am a woman (no, South African sprinter scandal here, I am medically certified female) so by saying “you’re” you meant me, which means my opinion, which is a female one so therefore saying, I am entitled to opinion is the same as saying a woman is entitled to an opinion because I am a woman who has an opinion and I am entitled to it – non?
Would you like some Harman action?
